I got the works with level 1 shaving. Hitting off the tee compared to my 2 year older model 20 foot higher 40 foot further. First 2 swings in game off the fence next 2 over by 20 foot (300ft fences) and my misses deep fly balls (timing still off). They no longer creep in on me anymore. I play in the north so weather is cold beginning of the season or I would have gotten level 2 shaving because all the misses would be over the fences lol.
I have had a number of bats shaved. I have been extremely pleased with the products. This new red Melee seems to be the best of all.
No joke this bat is hot from the first swing. I have been playing softball for decades using every bat imaginable. All need to be broken in. Even this one. All I can say is this bat drove the ball around 305 on it's second swing.
WOW. Yes I do hit them on a slight occasion(1 out of 200 swings) around 310 but never on the second swing. I have been told the bat is known to crack prematurely from my other team mates who are 50 year old big boys. This tells me the walls are thin and hot! But for this 215 lb 64 year old it should get me through a year with it. At least I hope. Thats usually how long it takes me to break one generally speaking. I play 4 games a week with two days of BP and 4 games one weekend a month in travel tourneys in Fl.
I've been swinging the Miken Freak powder blue bat for the last 1.5 as my #1 bat. I'm automatic with it. Its a tad lighter but not as much pop as this one was out of the wrapper. Time to replace. It now has cracks that started about two months ago.
The handle is slightly slimmer and my 26.5 actually weighed 26 on wifes digital food scale. It's a 12-13 inch barrel. The sweet spot is out towards the end which works for me. I stand off the plate anyways. I played two games with it yesterday and can tell you it will replace my #1 Miken within 30 days as my new #1.
